Media Guarantee
At Weeare, we remove the risk from digital PR by offering a clear Media Coverage Guarantee.
Each campaign includes a guaranteed minimum of 5 pieces of qualifying media coverage from genuine editorial media publications, unless a different number has been agreed in writing before the campaign begins.
All media coverage is earned through genuine digital PR. We do not purchase, pay for, or place guaranteed articles, sponsored posts, advertorials, or paid editorial coverage under any circumstances.
For the purposes of this guarantee, a piece of media coverage will generally count where a genuine editorial publication publishes content that meaningfully features, mentions, cites, quotes, or attributes the client, their brand, spokesperson, research, data, product, service, or campaign.
A backlink to the client’s website is not required for coverage to count toward the guaranteed total.
Journalists and publishers have complete editorial control over whether they include a link, how they describe the client, which quotes they use, and how the final article is presented.
The purpose of our guarantee is to ensure that clients receive genuine earned media coverage from credible publications.
Publications We Consider Qualifying Media Websites
Our Media Coverage Guarantee is designed around earning coverage from genuine editorial media websites, rather than paid placements, sponsored posts, guest post farms, private blog networks, websites created primarily for SEO, or other forms of manufactured coverage.
Examples of publications and media groups we would typically consider qualifying media websites include, but are not limited to, the following:
UK Publications
The Sun, The Mirror, Daily Mail, MailOnline, Daily Express, Daily Star, Metro, The Independent, Evening Standard, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Times, The Sunday Times, HuffPost UK, Yahoo UK, MSN UK, Cosmopolitan UK, Men’s Health UK, Women’s Health UK, Marie Claire UK, Ideal Home, Homes & Gardens, Good Housekeeping UK, House Beautiful UK, Country Living UK, Stylist, The i Paper, iNews, The Scotsman, Herald Scotland, WalesOnline, Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo, Birmingham Live, Daily Record, Daily Post, Get Surrey, Bristol Live, Yorkshire Live, Kent Live, Glasgow Live, Nottinghamshire Live, Chronicle Live, MyLondon, Essex Live, Devon Live, Cornwall Live, The Argus, Bournemouth Echo, Belfast Live, Edinburgh Live, Coventry Live, Hull Live, Leicester Mercury, Stoke Sentinel, Plymouth Live, Somerset Live, and other recognised national, regional, lifestyle, consumer, trade, and industry publications.
US Publications
New York Post, USA Today, Forbes, Forbes Advisor, Business Insider, Newsweek, HuffPost, Yahoo News, MSN, AOL, DailyMail.com, People, Cosmopolitan, Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, House Beautiful, Country Living, Delish, Prevention, Popular Mechanics, Best Life, Reader’s Digest, The Spruce, Apartment Therapy, Real Simple, Shape, Health, Parents, Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, Martha Stewart, Parade, The Daily Beast, The New York Observer, SFGate, Chron, Miami Herald, Kansas City Star, Charlotte Observer, Sacramento Bee, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, The State, The Olympian, The News & Observer, Lexington Herald-Leader, Idaho Statesman, and other recognised national, regional, lifestyle, consumer, trade, and industry publications.
Digital, Lifestyle, Entertainment & Social Publishers
LADbible, UNILAD, Tyla, SPORTbible, Joe, BuzzFeed, Vice, Mashable, PopSugar, Bored Panda, Dexerto, The Tab, Distractify, The List, Glam, TheThings, Screen Rant, Collider, Daily Dot, Upworthy, Scary Mommy, Fatherly, Romper, and similar editorial-led digital publishers.
Some editorial coverage may also be syndicated or republished across recognised media networks, partner publications, regional titles, or news aggregation platforms such as MSN, Yahoo, AOL, DNYUZ, and similar sites.
Syndicated or republished coverage may count toward the guaranteed total where it appears as a separate published article on a genuine media website or recognised news distribution platform.
This list is provided for guidance only and is not exhaustive.
A publication does not need to be listed above to count toward the guarantee. Coverage from other genuine editorial media websites may also qualify where it has been secured through legitimate digital PR activity.
We reserve the right to determine whether a publication qualifies as a genuine media website for the purposes of the guarantee, taking into account factors including editorial standards, publication type, audience, market, relevance, and whether the coverage was genuinely earned rather than purchased or placed.
Recognition by the client is not required for a publication to qualify. Many legitimate regional, trade, lifestyle, consumer, specialist, and industry publications may count toward the guarantee even where they are less widely known than major national titles.
For the avoidance of doubt, the guarantee is based on securing genuine editorial media coverage from credible publications. It is not a guarantee that every placement will appear in a household-name national publication.
Campaign Timelines & Refund Policy
Most campaigns are typically completed within an estimated timeframe of 30 to 60 days when the campaign fee is paid in full and the campaign can be delivered at the standard pace.
Where a campaign fee is split across monthly payments, campaign activity may also be spread across the corresponding payment period. As a result, coverage may take longer to secure.
For example, where a £3,000 campaign is split into three monthly payments of £1,000, the estimated campaign timeframe may extend to approximately 90 to 180 days. Choosing a monthly payment plan does not reduce the amount of work included in the campaign, but it may reduce the pace at which that work is delivered.
However, because this service involves genuine digital public relations activity, all timeframes provided are indicative only and are not guaranteed.
Campaign delivery may be affected by factors including, but not limited to:
- media news cycles
- seasonal relevance
- editorial priorities
- journalist availability
- breaking news
- publication schedules
- editorial decisions
- public holidays
- seasonal media shutdowns
- changes in journalist interest
Holiday periods and seasonal downtime are not included within the 30–60 day estimate and may result in extended campaign timelines.
Our services involve the creation of data-led, expert-led, reactive, or insight-driven content and the proactive pitching of that content to journalists and media outlets.
Media coverage may be achieved from the initial outreach or may require further outreach, revisions, new hooks, additional data, refinements, or alternative campaign angles.
The timing and outcome of individual media pitches remain subject to editorial discretion and factors outside of our control.
All campaign fees are non-refundable once work has commenced.
Our Media Coverage Guarantee is fulfilled through continued service provision rather than a fixed delivery deadline.
If the agreed number of qualifying media placements has not been achieved, we will continue working on the campaign at no additional cost until the agreed minimum has been delivered, subject to the conditions of this guarantee.
By engaging our services, you acknowledge that all stated timelines are estimates only and do not constitute fixed deadlines.
No refunds, credits, or fee reductions will be issued due to delays or because of the length of time required to secure the agreed media coverage.
Fees & Finality of Sale
All campaign fees are strictly non-refundable once work has commenced.
By engaging our services, you acknowledge that:
- All sales are final.
- No refunds, credits, or fee reductions will be issued due to delays.
- No refunds will be issued based on the time taken to secure coverage.
- No refunds will be issued because of dissatisfaction with a particular qualifying publication or media placement.
- No refund will be issued because a qualifying piece of media coverage does not contain a backlink.
- No refund will be issued because a journalist or publisher changes the wording, headline, quotes, positioning, or presentation of a story.
If the agreed media coverage benchmark is not met, we will continue working at no additional cost until the agreed number of qualifying placements has been delivered, provided the terms of the guarantee have been met by the client.
Client Approvals & Guarantee Conditions
Campaign timelines are directly affected by client responsiveness.
If you do not:
- approve reactive campaign ideas within 24 hours, or
- approve planned campaign ideas within 7 days,
then the Media Coverage Guarantee is voided.
We will still continue outreach and make reasonable efforts to earn coverage, but results can no longer be guaranteed.
Digital PR relies heavily on timely pitching and current news cycles. Delayed approvals can substantially reduce journalist interest and the likelihood of coverage.
We also require campaign ideas to be approved before significant data collection or campaign production begins.
Data collection, research, analysis, content production, and campaign preparation are resource-intensive.
If an idea is approved and work begins but you subsequently decide not to proceed with the campaign, the Media Coverage Guarantee will be void and the contract will end.
The guarantee may also be voided where the client prevents us from carrying out reasonable outreach, repeatedly rejects campaign ideas or journalist opportunities, materially changes the agreed campaign scope, provides inaccurate information, or otherwise prevents us from delivering the agreed digital PR service.
What Counts as Media Coverage
A qualifying piece of media coverage is generally a published editorial article or equivalent editorial feature appearing on a genuine media publication as a result of our digital PR activity.
Coverage may include, but is not limited to:
- articles based primarily on research or campaigns we have created
- articles mentioning or citing the client’s research or data
- expert commentary from a client spokesperson
- quotes attributed to the client, brand, or spokesperson
- reactive commentary supplied to journalists
- brand or company mentions
- product or service mentions where editorially relevant
- features containing information supplied through our campaigns
- syndicated or republished versions of qualifying editorial coverage
The entire article does not need to be exclusively about the client for it to qualify.
For example, where a journalist is writing a wider feature and includes commentary, research, statistics, or insight supplied by the client as part of that article, this may count as qualifying media coverage.
Coverage may count whether the client is referenced by company name, brand name, spokesperson, research, data, campaign, product, or another clearly attributable contribution resulting from our outreach.
Links Are Not Guaranteed
Our service is sold on the basis of earned media coverage rather than guaranteed backlinks.
We have no control over whether a journalist chooses to include a link to the client’s website.
Where links are included, we also have no control over:
- anchor text
- destination URL
- whether the link is dofollow or nofollow
- whether affiliate tracking is added
- whether a publication later removes or changes a link
Some publications routinely mention companies, experts, or research without linking to the original source.
This is normal editorial practice and does not prevent the article from counting toward the Media Coverage Guarantee.
Any backlinks secured through a campaign should therefore be considered an additional benefit of the media coverage rather than part of the guaranteed deliverable.
Coverage Counting
Our guarantee is based on the total number of qualifying pieces of media coverage delivered, unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing before the campaign begins.
Each separate qualifying published article may count as one media placement.
Where an article is legitimately syndicated or republished on additional genuine media websites, each separately published qualifying article may count toward the total.
Multiple qualifying articles from the same publication or media group may also count individually toward the guaranteed total.
We do not guarantee a specific number of unique publications, unique media groups, national publications, or unique referring domains unless this has been expressly agreed in writing before the campaign begins.
Coverage which does not meet our definition of a genuine editorial media placement may still be reported for transparency but will not count toward the guaranteed minimum.
Editorial Control & Client Sign-Off
As with all genuine digital PR services, final editorial control belongs to the journalist and publisher.
Once an article has been published, it is often not possible for us to request changes.
Journalists may:
- rewrite headlines
- shorten or edit quotes
- remove sections
- change the angle of a story
- combine information with other sources
- select only certain statistics or findings
- describe the client differently from the original pitch
- include or remove links
- publish only part of the information supplied
Final coverage may therefore differ from the original press release, campaign, pitch, or commentary submitted.
To ensure transparency, we will share the first piece of work we create with you so that you can see how we approach storytelling, positioning, and media outreach.
After this point, we will proceed with writing and pitching media campaigns on your behalf without requiring further client approval, unless an approval is specifically required because of the nature of the campaign.
This allows us to work at journalist speed, respond to breaking stories, capitalise on media opportunities, and secure coverage efficiently.
Ongoing approvals can slow outreach and materially affect campaign performance.
By operating in this way, we are able to pursue media coverage within a reasonable timeframe while maintaining a consistent editorial approach aligned with the client’s brand.
What We Do Not Guarantee
We do not guarantee:
- backlinks
- dofollow links
- a particular anchor text
- a particular destination URL
- a specific Domain Rating or Domain Authority
- coverage exclusively from national publications
- coverage from any specific named publication
- a particular journalist
- a particular headline
- a specific amount of referral traffic
- leads or sales generated from individual articles
- search ranking improvements
- social media shares
- article engagement or readership
- how long a publisher keeps an article live
- future changes made to an article by a publisher
- a specific number of unique publications
Our guarantee relates specifically to the agreed minimum number of qualifying pieces of earned editorial media coverage.
Removal or Changes to Published Coverage
Media publications are independent third parties and remain responsible for the content published on their websites.
A publisher may subsequently edit, move, redirect, archive, remove, or otherwise change an article without our involvement or permission.
Where genuine qualifying coverage was secured and published as part of the campaign, that placement will count toward the guarantee even if the publisher subsequently edits or removes the article.
We cannot guarantee that third-party media coverage will remain live indefinitely.
Acceptance of Terms
Payment of our invoice by any method, including bank transfer, cash, Stripe, card, or another payment processor, constitutes full acceptance of these terms and conditions.
By making payment, the client confirms that they understand the nature of earned digital PR, the editorial independence of media publications, and the terms of the Media Coverage Guarantee described above.
