1) Target the right keywords.

In the past, we have seen clients target very high competition keywords. For example, a client who sells plumbing services in Cardiff should not target just the keyword “Plumbing”.
There are a few reasons for this. One it’s way too competitive. You will never rank for the keyword plumbing alone. No chance.
Secondly, it’s not targeted. Someone in Manchester could be looking for someone to fix a pipe in their bathroom. Would it make sense for you to target someone who lives 5 hours away just to fix one pipe?
Your keywords should be relevant and highly focused. A more suitable keyword for the above client could be “Plumbers in Cardiff” or if we want to get ultra-focused “corgi registered plumbers in Cardiff”. Another example that we could use is our business. A bad title would be “SEO Marketing” a good title could be “Affordable SEO Marketing in Cardiff”
2) Get other websites to link to you
No one will know your website exists if you don’t tell them about it. You can outreach to others in similar fields and offer them something relevant if they link back to you.
An example using the plumbing above could be contacting a bathroom company and asking them to link to your site if any of their clients need plumbing services, you could also link back to theirs so your clients could purchase the bathroom equipment from them. Not only does this help other small businesses and you make great connections, but it also helps your website to become more trusted.
Another good example is to outreach to bloggers. A personal trainer for example who may sell their own supplements could outreach to health bloggers and offer them a sample of products for a review.
Within a review, the blogger will then link to your website a few times. Send samples out to 20+ bloggers and you could get back 30/50+ relevant links to your site. Increasing your trust in Google and also your website traffic.
3) Submit a Google Sitemap
